Tested and True

Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a workman who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the Word of truth. 2 Timothy 2:15

When I take a test, I like the ones that have multiple choice answers the best. But I sometimes wonder how those "truth" or "myth" options came about. Sometimes, the options offered for possible answers make the correct choice very obvious; in those cases, the "myth" is so ridiculous the truth is easy to spot! God gives Christ followers the truths in His Word so our lives will reflect the light of Jesus' Christ into a dark world.

In Him was life, and that life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, but the darkness has not understood it. John 1:4-5

God's two-fold plan for our lives:

  1. First, we believe in Him and apply His Word of truth in our daily lives. God's Word is dependable, it stands the test of time, and it is flawless. (Psalm 18:30).

  1. Second, we navigate life by using His Word as our guide. Then, our ordinary lives become extraordinary, all for His glory.

Showing others the light of God's truth is part of our calling, but we cannot give to others what we do not have ourselves. It is vitally important for Christ followers to stand firm and be completely grounded in God's Word. Knowing His Word will protect us from being tossed about by erroneous doctrines. Christ follower, let God's Word dwell in you richly (Colossians 3:16).

Yet to all who received Him, to those who believed in His name, He gave the right to become the children of God. John 1:12

Believe God's Word is 100% true and apply it to every area of your life. Then, you will be a useful vessel in His mighty hands, equipped to make Him known and fulfill His purpose for your life!
