A Guaranteed Seat

For he raised us from the dead along with Christ and seated us with him in heavenly realms because we are united with Christ Jesus. Ephesians 2:6 (NLT)
Once or twice a year, our church hosts concerts from well-known Christian artists in our main sanctuary. But before the tickets are made available to the public, our congregation is given an opportunity to purchase guaranteed seats. Through Christ, you and I have an opportunity to guarantee our eternal seat in the heavenly realms. It's spiritual guaranteed seating! It’s a blessing offered to us by our Creator: Follow my Son, and you'll have a reserved seat at my table for eternity.
How does this happen? By confessing with our mouths and believing in our hearts that Jesus paid for our sin and was resurrected from the dead. (Romans 10:9). We confess and believe in the work Jesus Christ did for us on the cross. At salvation, the Holy Spirit seals us with a seal of identification (we belong to Him) and location (our place in Heaven). Our VIP ticket was purchased by the blood of Jesus, and it was stamped for "early entrance" the moment we confessed and believed.
But we are citizens of heaven, where the Lord Jesus Christ lives. And we are eagerly waiting for him to return as our Savior. Philippians 3:20 (NLT)
But do we have to wait until Jesus returns to experience the spiritual benefits of having a seat in heavenly places? Being seated with Christ also defines our present position as a Christ follower. We have a new place of residency, a place we pivot from emotionally and spiritually. At our moment of salvation our citizenship shifted to heaven (Philippians 3:20). Because Jesus sits in heavenly places, so do we. As a result, we have a birthright to the God's kingdom. Until we take our rightful seat in God’s Heavenly kingdom, our lives on earth are showered with God’s never-ending grace. One of the many gifts God offers to His children is His grace.
Don't worry or fret over earthly seating; your real seat is in heavenly places! Enjoy your view from the VIP section, the place God reserved for you as an heir of His kingdom!
