And Mary said: “My soul glorifies the Lord and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior," Luke 1:46-47
On the cross, Jesus placed the burden of our sin and shame on Himself. In John 19:30, Jesus final words on the cross were, “It is finished.” In the dictionary, completion is defined as the act of finishing something. Jesus said those words to signify He had fulfilled and completed God's promise of reconciliation. Jesus completed His assignment, however the greatest story ever told didn't end there... Death could not hold Him, so Christ is alive and well, sitting at the right hand of the Father interceding for you and me (Romans 8:34).
But thanks be to God, who in Christ always leads us in triumphal procession, and through us spreads the fragrance of the knowledge of him everywhere. 2 Corinthians 2:14 (ESV)
Jesus' sacrifice purchased eternal life for His followers. In other words, thanks to Jesus, we have victory over death too! When we follow Jesus, we are able to radiate His love everywhere we go. Because Jesus lives, we live! Knowing we have eternal life helps us face life's challenges in Christ's power, and tap into His peace, hope, and forgiveness. Life on earth isn't always easy, so when life brings us challenges, we navigate through them in God's strength, not our own.
You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they were created and have their being. Revelations 4:11
God created us in His likeness, and He designed us to be in fellowship with Him. When Christ said, “It is finished”, it included restoring our relationship with The Father. Sin separates and love restores! God loved us so much He made a way to restore the relationship Adam and Eve damaged in the garden. God doesn't just love us, He is love! Christ's sacrifice brings abundant life and following Him fills us with God's potential. Our moment of salvation was really just the start... now, each and every day God is working in us and through us for His glory.
See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! 1 John 3:1
Where does God's love find you today? Are you grateful for what He is doing and His wonderful works? Or are you struggling right now, and in desperate need of His encouragement? Remember, God's grace is more than enough- He loves you so much He will meet you right where you are!
