God's Perfect Plan

For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. Ephesians 1:4

Before we were born, God chose us to be holy and blameless in His sight. Just the thought is overwhelming. Before we ever took our first breath, God said "I choose you." It wasn’t due to our charm, intellect, or accomplishments either. God chose us because He loved us, and His Word says He loved us before He formed our world. As I was typing this, I paused for a "Selah moment" to think about the goodness of God's love. It's beyond what we can think or imagine! God's love came to us in person, not in big elaborate ways, but in the simplest form, a baby named Jesus.

For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Isaiah 9:6

Jesus came to us because He loves us. Nothing we did (or didn’t do) can change God's plan of redeeming mankind. On the cross, God's only Son became our salvation and redemption. We weren't there when the plan was formed, and mankind had no input in its design. We can’t boast about earning it, and we surely don't deserve it. All we can do is gladly receive God's free gift of salvation, the plan that reconciles our relationship with Him.

For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast. Ephesians 2:8-9

Don't boast that you've chosen to follow Jesus, boast about God's perfect plan. When you go about your day, be mindful He chose you for salvation! God loved us so much; His plan included the death of His own son. God sacrificed Himself in the person of Jesus so we could become holy and blameless in His sight.

Thanks to Jesus, we will be with our Heavenly Father forever. It's all part of God's unchangeable plan, and that promise is available all who choose to ask for it and receive it.
