Have you considered giving Highly Appreciated Assets, like stock or real estate? Creating a Donor Advised Funds (DAF)? Or Qualified Charitable Distributions from your IRA? Depending on your circumstances, there may be some extra advantages for you when giving through one of these techniques.
Highly Appreciated Assets
These are any assets, such as stock or real estate, that have gained (appreciated) value since purchased. When you sell an appreciated asset, you must pay taxes on the gains. However, if you donate your appreciated asset, you do not have to pay taxes on the gains, plus you can deduct the full market value of the asset from your taxes. That’s a double advantage!
Donor Advised Fund (DAF)
Per the IRS tax code, if you file your taxes using the “standard deduction,” the IRS does not permit you to deduct your charitable contributions (tithes and offerings). However, if you give through a DAF, you can deduct from your income in the tax year you give. It’s simple to do. Open a DAF for your family through a custodian such as Fidelity or Vanguard. Then, instruct the DAF to send a contribution to Calvary Chapel with the following instructions:

Qualified Charitable Deduction (QCD)
If you are 70 ½ years of age or older and have a traditional IRA or 403(b) account, you may qualify for a QCD. This means you can donate directly from your IRA to Calvary Chapel and benefit from not having to report the donation as income. Your donation counts towards your Required Minimum Distribution (RMD) and can lower your Adjusted Gross Income (AGI) for other tax considerations. Plus, it’s simple to set up.
